BIO-FILMOGRAPHY
MANU LUQUE
(Madrid, 1997). In 2019, he graduated in Film Directing from the TAI school, where he began to develop a practice that combines audiovisual creation with theoretical research. During this period, he directed his first fiction short film, Anoche (2019), a semi-finalist at Los Angeles Cinefest– and several music videos –Honourable Mention at the Munich Music Video Awards for Tan Sensual (2022)–.
He also discovered live cinema and expanded cinema, audiovisual practices that would accompany him throughout the rest of his career.
This discovery led him to move to Barcelona to study a Master's Degree in Film Studies at Pompeu Fabra University, where he delved deeper into the study of live cinema and its relationship with digital imagery. There he developed his first audiovisual performance El hombre del flujo digital (2023) and worked as a visual artist at the Razzmatazz venue, while continuing to be involved in cinema as a production manager and editor, as well as completing his second short film as a director El hombre que se negó a irse (2021), winner of the Set La Rioja Notodofilmfest 2021 Award.
In 2024, he returned to Madrid, where, in addition to continuing his academic research on live cinema (article published in Dixit magazine in 2025), he worked as a VJing teacher and as a visual artist for the Alterego collective. During this period, he directed his last two fiction short films, Gotelé and Kat Cut, currently in distribution and post-production respectively.
Since 2025, he has been part of El Balcón, a project of live music sessions recorded from balcony to balcony, where audiovisual pieces are also made and produced.
