SYNOPSIS
A film director returns to his childhood home to recreate, with actors, the argument that led to his parents’ separation when he was four. Through improvisation and a shoot that exposes its own artifice, he constructs memories he never had access to. But as the scene is repeated, his directions grow unstable and the line between reconstruction and desire begins to blur.
BIO-FILMOGRAPHY
NITYA LÓPEZ SAITUA
Nitya Lopez Saitua (Ibarrangelu, Bizkaia, 1996). As a screenwriter and director, in 2018 he shot his first fiction short film, Jesus is B(l)ack, for which she won the Best Young Filmmaker award at the U22 Film Fest. Since then, he has directed several short films, including Infraganti and Txoriak Txori. His latest short film, Deadly Draw (Sorteo Mortal) 2023, which was selected for the Kimuak catalogue of Basque short films, has received over 30 selections.
In recent years, he has written and directed several award-winning music videos, including: Liher – Teloia, Niña Coyote eta Chica Tornado (a piece composed of two videos), Bele – Zerua Irabazi, and Erromintxelak – Esperoan.
Nitya has gained hands-on experience in filmmaking by working in the directing teams of over 30 films and TV series, including: Ane (David P. Sañudo), ¿Es el Enemigo? (Alexis Morante), El Buen Patrón (Fernando León de Aranoa), Maixabel (Icíar Bollaín), La Fortuna (Alejandro Amenábar), Intimidad (Netflix), Apagón (Movistar+), and Balenciaga (Moriarti/Disney+).
In 2024, he directed the second units of the series Zeru Ahoak by Koldo Almandoz, produced by Txintxua Films (Intimidad, Ondar Ahoak, Oreina, Karmele, etc.), which premiered in the official section of the San Sebastián Festival in 2025. In 2025, he co-directed two episodes of the HBO series “Acoustic Home” alongside Alexis Morante. He is currently in post-production on his series “AlokaHiru”, which he created, wrote and directed alongside Alba Lozano for EITB.
