BIO-FILMOGRAPHY
LUCÍA SELVA
Lucía Selva, (Granada, Spain 1998) studied cinematography at the Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya (ESCAC), where she specialized in Cinematography. She is interested in the craft of filmmaking and the creation of new languages and aesthetics, which has led her to work in photography, music videos, non-fiction, and video essays, drawn by experimentation with different media, digital creation, and light.
Her video essay In Memoriam was selected at Filmadrid (2020) and distributed by MUBI and Filmin. Her works explore the relationship between identity and space, as reflected in Who Witnessed the Temples Fall (2025), her first feature film, which had its world premiere at CPH:DOX, where it received a Special Jury Mention, and continues its distribution at the Shanghai International Film Festival and the Festival du nouveau cinéma de Montréal.
After completing the Master’s in Creation at Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, she is developing her new film while working on various pieces, short films, and installation projects as a way to expand practice and experimentation around the image.
Her new short film This is an autopsy is awaiting its world premiere.
She has been a resident at various labs and programs such as Semilleru Lab (FICX), and Cultures d’Avenir (CCCB, Centre Pompidou, HKW), as well as RAW (Arché/DocLisboa and Márgenes/Work), where she received the DAE Talent Development Award for her upcoming feature film in development, The end of the future. The mixtape.
